INDUSTRY:
The main industries of Egypt are tourism, agriculture, manufactuing, oil and gas. The market economy is being deregulated in order to encourage foreign investment and private enterprise. Reforms include the lifting of price controls, the reduction of subsidies as well as the relaxation of restrictions on trade and investment.
Agriculture employs 35% of the labour force and is still the major industrial activity, although, enormous future potential is shown by the oil and gas industries.
